The Smiluvenni

        The Smiluvenni is the name given the only known Assassins order in the world of men, unless you count adventurers.  Myskateel, the Greater Ancient Red Dragon is the Master of them.  Myskateel has what is called an Understay in each specific area of the world.  They are often known by reputation.  In the Northern Province it is Hoax.  Each Understay has an undetermined number of Nearstays that do the actual "work" of the guild.      

        All are aware of Hoax, the Understay of the Northern Province.  He is a near mythical figure capable of changing shape in the blink of an eye, at once a young, helpless woman, next a feeble, diseased Kordic beggar, next a kind old tinker.

                It is rumored that there are three Neerstays in the northern province but that number seems small.  And of course, where there is the Smiluvenni, there is Myskateel, which brings up dragons (that are thoroughly covered elsewhere).  The Smiluvenni despise ordered resistance of chaos and the Dark.  They do not necessarily work with Malfator (to be covered elsewhere) but they do not oppose him either.  There is a fledging guild of assassins that is rumored to be the Gang of one of the Neerstays.  It plagues Brighton and the best efforts of all the Guards have been defeated in unearthing their lair and personalities.  While the presence of a Noodlebakers guild in Brighton, Bricking and the Kings City of the North is common knowledge, they are a shadow of their importance in Kias to the south.. 

                There is a Black tree on a cliff above Brighton where people leave curses.  Here a person can leave a plea for death and it is often answered, but always with a price.

    In the Kings City of the North, it is by dropping a note down Willowbrick well that someone contacts the Smiluvenni.  In Tenwillows, you shout you prayer at the hanging Tree south of town each night until you are answered by the cry of an owl.  There does not seem to be a strong presence of Smiluvenni in Bricking.  

    With Myskateel is the absolute head of the Smiluvenni, and Hoax as his understay in the north, the three Nearstays rumored to be so, are generally blamed for all wrongdoings and failures of society in the Provence.
